SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA, March 6, 2024 – On March 5, the first class of “AI Startup School with Seoul” began. The AI Startup School is an education program to nurture talents in the AI industry, co-organized by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and Google. Seoul became the first city in the world to collaborate with Google to provide education for future entrepreneurs in the AI field. This education program is free of charge and open to anyone interested in AI, including aspiring entrepreneurs, early-stage startup founders as well as college students. On the first day of the AI school, March 5, an orientation session was held to introduce the 6-week curriculum and motivate the participants. Mayor Oh, President of Google Korea Kim Kyoung-hoon, and Head of Google for Startups APAC and Korea Mike Kim participated in the event. The orientation was followed by a group discussion about the future of AI with industry insiders, startup leaders, investors, and the participants. Panels included: Mark Tetto, Seoul-based investor and TV celebrity; JoCoding, a programming and AI Youtuber with 580k subscribers; Kwon Seo-hyun, CEO of sleep-tech startup Munice; and Cheong Ga-hye, CTO of proptech startup Zenerate. The education program is six weeks long, divided into six courses by curriculum topics. Each course has been registered by over 1,000 participants. The participants will receive benefits, such as priority registration to the speaker series and other events taking place in the Google Startup Campus. The six courses are 1) Entrepreneurship Workshop, 2) Strategic Storytelling for Products, 3) Leadership Principles for Success, 4) Strategies to Attract Consumers through Google Ads, 5) AI and Cloud Tools for Startups, and 6) In-depth Talks with Innovate AI Startup Founders. President of Google Korea Kim Kyoung-hoon said, “To improve the understanding of AI technologies and cultivate innovative startups in Seoul, we launched the “AI Startup School with Seoul” through collaboration with the Seoul city government.
